Tight Contest Shown in New Poll
SACRAMENTO, California - Rep. Adam Schiff has a clear lead in California's Senate race, according to a new poll released today.
The POLITICO Morning Consult poll shows Schiff with 20% support among likely voters, followed by Republican Steve Garvey with 17% and Democratic Rep. Katie Porter with 17%. The poll was conducted from June 22-26 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The results indicate a tight race for second place, with Porter and Garvey statistically tied. The poll also found that Schiff is viewed favorably by 49% of likely voters, while Garvey is viewed favorably by 33% and Porter by 32%.
