Nerlens Noel: A Journey Through Basketball
Early Life and Career
Nerlens Noel was born on April 10, 1994, in Everett, Massachusetts. He attended the Tilton School in Tilton, New Hampshire, where he excelled in basketball. As a senior, he led his team to the National Prep Championship and was named the National Player of the Year.
NBA Career
Noel was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He made an immediate impact, starting 71 games as a rookie and averaging 9.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. However, he struggled with injuries throughout his career, limiting his playing time.
After stints with the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder, Noel joined the Brooklyn Nets in 2020. He played sparingly for the Nets, averaging just 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in the 2021-22 season.
